HP office jet 8710, I tried several things , ran trouble shooter, us virtual assistant ,shut off printer and computer twice

still off line

I understand you are facing printer offline issue.

 

To assist better -

  • What device are you using the printer with, a Windows computer, Mac, Android or an iPhone? 
  • I would like to know, is your router set to work on 2.4 GHz network or 5 GHz network band?
  • What is the status of the wireless light on the printer, steady or blinking?

The printer is not connected to the instant server, could you please turn on printer and connect it to the network?

My problem is that I cannot get it online, it will not connect. Right now it is connected to my iMac with an Ethernet cable, which is the only way I can print but it does not work the scanner.

What is the application you are using to scan?

What is the error you receive when you try and scan?

Are you able to make copies using the printer?

Thank you for your response. The scan function is not set up yet. I am just trying to print a word document. It says the printer is offline. It had been working well but Spectrum installed a new modem and router recently. I'm a senior and am fine with using computers but not troubleshooting them! The blue light on the printer is blinking.
