Hi @Ted193,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I understand your HP DeskJet 2700 series printer displays an "Offline" status and the wireless light is flashing blue, indicating connectivity issues. You can try the following steps to resolve the problem:

1. Update the Printer Firmware

Updating the printer firmware can resolve many connection-related issues.

  • Download the Latest Firmware:

    1. Visit the HP Software and Driver Downloads page.
    2. Enter your printer model and select your operating system.
    3. Expand the "Printer Firmware" section and download the latest firmware update.
    4. Follow the instructions in the downloaded file to update your printer's firmware.

2. Reconnect Using Wi-Fi Direct

If updating doesn't solve the issues, try connecting using Wi-Fi Direct:

  • Print a Wi-Fi Direct Information Page:

    1. Press the Information button on your printer to obtain the Wi-Fi Direct name and password.
    2. On your computer, navigate to Wi-Fi settings and select your printer's Wi-Fi Direct network (e.g., DIRECT-9F-HP-DeskJet 2700).
    3. Input the Wi-Fi Direct password from the printer information page.

3. Reset the Printer's Wi-Fi Settings

If connectivity issues persist, resetting the Wi-Fi settings might be necessary:

  • Reset Wi-Fi Settings:

    1. Press and hold the Wireless and Cancel buttons on the printer for three seconds.
    2. The wireless light should start blinking, indicating that Wi-Fi setup mode is enabled.

4. Re-add the Printer to the HP App

Ensure your printer is correctly added to the HP app:

5. Check Network Connectivity

Ensure that your network is functioning appropriately:

  • Network Checks:
    1. Move the printer closer to the Wi-Fi router to improve signal strength.
    2. Restart your router by unplugging it, waiting a few seconds, and reconnecting it.
    3. Make sure your computer or mobile device is connected to the same network.

      I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
