HP OfficeJet Pro 9015e All-in-One Printer
Microsoft Windows 11

The small window at the printer repeatedly warns us it is offline, but we easily can print to it from various devices, the HP Smart app shows correct ink levels, and I can see its IP address on the network, and my bill reflects my usage. It clearly is not offline. I looked at other articles about resetting the printer, but in those cases, people couldn't print. I can. I just want to warning to go away since it is clearly wrong.

Hi @thewaterrat

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.

Thanks for explaining that so clearly—it’s definitely annoying when the printer insists it’s offline even though everything is working just fine. Since you’re able to print, see ink levels, and access the printer’s IP, this sounds like a false status alert on the printer’s display panel rather than a real connectivity issue.

To resolve the "printer offline" warning on your HP OfficeJet Pro 9015e All-in-One Printer while ensuring that it remains functional, follow these steps:

Step 1: Power Cycle the Printer and Router

  1. Turn off your printer by pressing the power button.
  2. Unplug the power cord from the back of the printer.
  3. Turn off the router by unplugging it from its power source (wait for about 30 seconds).
  4. Plug the printer’s power cord back in, turn on the printer, and then reconnect the router’s power to turn it on.

Step 2: Check Printer Connection Settings

  1. Ensure that the printer is connected to the same network as your computer by checking its IP address.
  2. Use the printer’s control panel to access network settings and verify the connection.

Step 3: Set Printer as Default and Check Status in Windows

  1. Open Control Panel from the Start menu.
  2. Go to Devices and Printers.
  3. Right-click on your HP OfficeJet Pro 9015e and select Set as default printer.
  4. Check the status of the printer. If it shows as offline, right-click on the printer and select See what's printing.
  5. In the new window, click on Printer from the menu and ensure Use Printer Offline is unchecked.

Step 4: Update Printer Firmware

  1. Go to the HP Support website and enter your printer model.
  2. Download and install the latest firmware update for your printer.

Step 5: Reinstall HP Smart App and Drivers

  1. Uninstall the HP Smart app from your computer.
  2. Download and reinstall the HP Smart app from the Microsoft Store.
  3. Reinstall the latest driver for your printer from the HP Support website.

Step 6: Disable SNMP Status Monitoring

  1. Open Control Panel and go to Devices and Printers.
  2. Right-click on your printer and select Printer Properties.
  3. Click on the Ports tab and then select Configure Port.
  4. Untick the option “SNMP Status Enabled” and then click OK.
