HP ENVY Photo 7855 All-in-One Printer
Microsoft Windows 11

My HP Pavilion computer laptop is not connecting to the Printer. The problem seems to be with the printer. The wifi symbol blinks off and on. There seemed to be no problems until I installed a new color ink cartridge. It's HP and it was done the correct way. It works when I print from my phone but not my computer?????

Hi @bai6,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

Thank you for explaining the situation so clearly! Here’s what’s happening:

  • Your HP ENVY Photo 7855 works fine with your phone, so the printer hardware and Wi-Fi are okay.
  • The blinking Wi-Fi icon means the printer is losing or trying to re-establish its network connection.
  • Your Windows 11 laptop can’t print because the printer is not consistently connected to the same network, or the driver is using an old IP address.

Step 1: Check Printer’s Network Status

  • On the printer’s touchscreen, go to Wireless Settings > Print Network Configuration Page.
  • Confirm the printer is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your laptop.

Step 2: Restart and Reconnect

  • Restart your router, printer, and laptop.
  • If the Wi-Fi icon still blinks, reconnect the printer:
    • On the printer: Wireless Settings > Wireless Setup Wizard.
    • Select your Wi-Fi and enter the password.

Step 3: Update or Reinstall Printer on Windows

Step 4: Assign a Static IP (Optional but Recommended)

  • From the printer’s Embedded Web Server (EWS) (enter the printer IP in a browser), set a Manual IP so it doesn’t change after reboots.

Why It Happened After Ink Change

The ink change itself didn’t cause this. It’s likely a Wi-Fi reconnection issue that coincidentally appeared after the cartridge swap.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
