Hi @Bri0423
Welcome to the HP support community.
If you've restored the factory defaults on your HP ENVY Photo 6255 printer and are now unable to connect to HP Instant Ink, follow these steps to resolve the issue and reconnect your printer to the service:
1. Set Up Printer Wi-Fi Connection
Reconnect to Wi-Fi:
- On the printer, press the Wireless icon on the control panel.
- Select Settings or Network Setup.
- Choose Wireless Setup Wizard.
- Select your Wi-Fi network and enter your Wi-Fi password to reconnect the printer to the internet.
Ensure Internet Connection:
- Once your printer is connected to the Wi-Fi network, verify that it has internet access by printing a Network Configuration Report.
- This will confirm if your printer is properly connected to the internet.
2. Sign in to HP Instant Ink
Sign into HP Instant Ink:
- Open the HP Smart app on your computer or mobile device.
- Ensure your printer is added to the app (if it's not already, use the Add Printer option).
- Go to the Instant Ink section in the HP Smart app.
- Sign in with your HP Instant Ink account credentials (email and password).
Follow On-Screen Instructions:
3. Check for Activation Issues
Activate HP Instant Ink via Web:
- Visit the official HP Instant Ink website: HP Instant Ink Enrollment.
- Sign in with your HP account and verify that your printer is listed in your Instant Ink account.
- If not, you can add the printer manually by selecting Add a Printer and entering the printer’s serial number (found on the printer itself or through the HP Smart app).
Check Printer Status:
- After successfully signing into HP Instant Ink, ensure that the printer shows as active in your Instant Ink account.
- If it’s showing as inactive, follow the on-screen instructions to activate it.
4. Update Printer Firmware
- Go to the HP Smart app or use the printer's control panel to check for any available firmware updates.
- Install any updates that are available.
I hope this helps! Keep me posted.
