Hi @Rosefletchr,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I understand that you are facing connectivity issues. I’d like to help!

If your HP DeskJet 2723e All-in-One Printer is not connecting to the internet, you won't be able to print wirelessly from your computer. Here are some steps you can take to resolve the issue:

1. Check Network and Printer Compatibility

  • Ensure Wi-Fi is Working: Confirm that your Wi-Fi network is functioning correctly and that other devices can connect to it without issues.
  • Network Frequency: Ensure your printer is connected to a 2.4 GHz network, as many HP printers do not support 5 GHz networks.

2. Restart Printer, Router, and Computer

  • Power Cycle the Printer: Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, wait for 30 seconds, and plug it back in.
  • Restart the Router: Restart your router by unplugging it for about 10 seconds, then plugging it back in.
  • Restart Your Computer: Restart your computer to clear any network-related issues.

3. Connect the Printer to Wi-Fi

  1. Use the HP Smart App:
    • Download the HP Smart app from the HP website or your device's app store.
    • Open the HP Smart app and click on the Add Printer button.
    • Follow the on-screen instructions to connect your printer to the Wi-Fi network.
  2. Wi-Fi Setup Mode:
    • If the printer is not in Wi-Fi setup mode (indicated by a blinking blue light), press and hold the Wireless button and the Cancel button on the printer for 3 seconds. The wireless light should start blinking, indicating it's in setup mode.
    • Use the HP Smart app or the Wireless Setup Wizard from the printer's control panel to connect.

4. Run the HP Print and Scan Doctor (Windows Only)

  • Download and run the HP Print and Scan Doctor, a diagnostic tool that can help troubleshoot connection issues.

Please find the remaining steps in the next post.

    • Use the Wireless Setup Wizard to select your network and enter the password.

6. Check Printer and Computer Firewalls

  • Temporarily Disable Firewalls:
    • Firewalls or security software on your computer may block the printer from connecting.
    • Temporarily disable the firewall on your computer and check if the printer connects.

7. Assign a Static IP Address

  • Assign a Static IP:
    • From the printer’s control panel, print a Network Configuration Page.
    • Note down the IP address and enter it in your web browser to access the printer’s Embedded Web Server (EWS).
    • Go to the Network tab, select Wireless (802.11), and assign a static IP within your router’s range but outside the DHCP range.

8. Update Printer Firmware

    • Ensure that MAC address filtering is not enabled on your router, or add the printer's MAC address to the allowed list.

Hi @Rosefletchr,

To reset the HP DeskJet 2723e All-in-One Printer to its default settings, including network settings, follow these steps:

Resetting Printer Network Settings

This method resets the printer's network settings, which can help resolve connectivity issues:

Power On the Printer: Ensure that the printer is turned on.

Reset Network Settings:

  • Press and hold the Wireless button (the button with the antenna icon) and the Cancel button (the button with the "X") simultaneously for about 5 seconds.
  • The Wireless light will start blinking, indicating that the network settings have been reset and the printer is now in Wi-Fi setup mode.

Resetting the Entire Printer to Factory Defaults

HP DeskJet printers like the 2723e do not have a full factory reset option that can be accessed directly via the buttons, but resetting the network settings is usually sufficient for resolving connectivity issues.

If you need to reset additional settings, you can:

  1. Reinitialize Through HP Smart App:
    • Use the HP Smart app to reinitialize the printer setup, which can essentially reset the printer’s configuration. This will walk you through setting up the printer again from scratch.

Next Steps After Reset

  1. Reconnect to Wi-Fi:
    • Use the HP Smart app or the Wireless Setup Wizard on the printer to reconnect to your Wi-Fi network.
  2. Re-add the Printer to Your Computer:
    • On your computer, go to Printers & Scanners settings, remove the printer if it’s already listed, and then add it again.

These steps will reset your HP DeskJet 2723e’s settings and help resolve issues related to connectivity or misconfiguration. If you continue to experience problems, I recommend you contact phone support.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance
