I am trying to print out my "printables" located on the main screen on my HP 4520 Envy all in one printer. I continue to get an error message stating "the printer could not connect to the server. Check the internet connection or the proxy setting". I am connected to the internet, and I am not using a USB cord.

@mssds, Welcome to HP Support Community,
Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue
It appears that your HP Envy 4520 printer is unable to connect to the server to access HP Printables. Here are steps to resolve this issue:
Check Internet Connection:
- Ensure that your printer is connected to an active wireless network.
- Verify that other devices connected to the same network can access the internet without issues.
Check Proxy Settings:
- Sometimes network configurations require proxy settings. If you are unaware of the proxy details, you may need to contact your network administrator.
- Proxy settings can usually be configured from the printer’s Embedded Web Server (EWS).
Steps to Set Up Web Services and Check Proxy Settings:
Using the Printer Control Panel:
- From the printer control panel display, touch HP Printables.
- Touch Enable Web Services.
- Touch Accept the Web Services terms and enable Web Services.
- In the Auto Update screen, touch Yes to allow the printer to automatically check for and install product updates.
- If prompted for proxy settings, follow the on-screen instructions. Contact your network administrator if you do not have the proxy details.
Using the Embedded Web Server (EWS):
- Open a web browser and enter the IP address of your printer.
- Click the Web Services tab.
- In the Web Services Settings section, click Setup, click Continue, and follow the on-screen instructions to accept the terms of use.
- If prompted, allow the printer to check for and install updates.
- Configure the proxy server settings if your network uses them.
You should also ensure that web services are enabled and correctly set up.
Checking and Enabling Web Services:
- Enable Web Services from the Home screen:
- Touch the ePrint icon.
- Accept the Terms of Use and follow the onscreen instructions.
- Print the ePrint information page and follow the instructions.
- Display Printer Email Address:
- Touch the ePrint icon on the Home screen.
- Touch Web Services Settings.
- Touch Display Email Address.
If the connection issue continues, consider restarting your router and printer, and then reconfiguring the network connection.
I hope this helps.
