HP LaserJet Pro M15w Printer

@TEJ1602 please help me figure out how to factory reset my HP LaserJet M15w. My router died, and now there is nothing I can do on my own to factory reset the printer. Please DM me. I've tried finding the printer's IP address (no luck) and any other suggestions I've seen in the posts haven't worked.

Hi @mjademurphy,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I see that you are facing issues with connecting your HP All-In-One Printer to your wi-fi network after changing the network.

Please follow the steps listed below to restore the printer to its network defaults and then reconnect it to the network.

Step 1: Restore the printer to its network defaults.
a. Print a configuration page to determine the IP address or host name.

i. Press and hold the Resume/Cancel button until the Ready light begins blinking.

ii. Release the Resume/Cancel button.

b. Open a web browser, and in the address line, type the IP address or host name exactly as it displays on the printer configuration page. Press the Enter key on the computer keyboard. The EWS opens. NOTE: If the web browser displays a message indicating that accessing the website might not be safe, select the option to continue to the website. Accessing this website will not harm the computer.

c. Go to the Service tab.

d. In the Restore Defaults area, click the Restore defaults button. The printer automatically restarts.

Step 2: Reconnect the Printer to the network:
1. Press and hold the wireless button on the printer for more than least three seconds to start the WPS Push Button method.
2. Press the WPS button on your router.
NOTE: The product begins a timer for approximately two minutes while a wireless connection is established. If the printer connects successfully, the light next to the Wireless button glows steady blue.

When I print out the configuration page there is no IP address listed. When I type the host name into a browser, nothing happens.  I tried attaching a photo so you can see the information I am provided, but it exceeds the limit. Hi @mjademurphy,

There is an alternate way to connect to the new network by using the USB cable.

Please follow the steps listed in the document below to connect using USB cable and then change it to wireless.

Step 1: Connect using USB cable:

Please follow the steps in this document to connect the printer using the USB cable.

Step 2: Change from a USB connection to wireless:

Please follow the steps in this document to change from a USB connection to a wireless network.

I hope this helps.

Unfortunately, those instructions were useless. Through trial and error, that I tried to keep track of, but could not replicate, I was actually able to switch to my new wireless router. I really wish I could write out the directions for someone else since this is such a prevalent issue- And I know I'll encounter it again in the future should the new router die- but every click brought me to a new screen I'd never seen before. If anyone has a connection at HP, please ask them to re-write their instructions to change from a dead router to a new wireless SSID

Thank you for your help regardless!
