Hi @jamsom1,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you're having trouble with your HP DeskJet 2700 connecting to WiFi on macOS Sonoma. Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you resolve the issue:
1. Check Your Network:
- Ensure the WiFi Network is Working: Confirm that your WiFi network is functioning properly and that other devices can connect to it.
- Check for Network Issues: Sometimes, router issues or signal interference can cause problems. Restart your router and check if the problem persists.
2. Printer Setup:
- Restart Your Printer: Turn off the printer, wait for a few seconds, and then turn it back on.
- Restart Your Mac: Sometimes, a simple restart can resolve connectivity issues.
3. Reconfigure Printer WiFi:
- Use the Printer’s Control Panel:
- On the printer, go to the WiFi settings or network setup menu.
- Select the option to connect to a wireless network and follow the prompts to select your network and enter the password.
4. Update Printer Firmware: Update the firmware on an HP printer
- Check for Updates: Visit the HP support website and look for any available firmware updates for your DeskJet 2700.
5. Reset Printer Network Settings:
- Factory Reset Network Settings:
- On your printer, navigate to the network settings menu and select the option to reset network settings.
- This will clear any previous network configurations and allow you to set up the printer from scratch.
6. Manually Set IP Address:
- Access Printer’s Web Interface:
- Once connected to the network, find the printer’s IP address (usually available from the printer’s menu under network settings).
- Open a web browser on your Mac and enter the IP address to access the printer’s web interface.
- From there, you can configure network settings and check the status.
7. Reinstall HP Software:
- Uninstall and Reinstall HP Smart App:
- Go to the Applications folder on your Mac, find the HP Smart app, and drag it to the Trash.
- Download and install the latest version of the HP Smart app from the HP website or the Mac App Store.
8. Check macOS Settings:
- Ensure Network Settings Are Correct:
- Go to System Preferences > Network and make sure your WiFi connection is active and properly configured.
