I have spent soooo much time on this problem. 

NVRAM reset / permanent storage init instructions for Color LaserJet Pro MFP M283fdw with forgotten admin password.

 

Does anyone know how to do a true fresh out off the box factory firmware refresh because my printer? I am in the U.S. This is a result of people who squatted at my home while I was out of country for four months. I work in tech and I literally have tried everything that I have seen online, including holding the middle button down getting the name or to get the password, etc. etc. I just want to flash the thing back to its original configuration. There is no way I will ever be able to get the password from the people who set it.

So many millions of thanks to anyone who can help solve this!
