Hello!

I'm having issues connecting my printer to a new WIFI provider.

I need your help to do so because the Virtual Assistant was not helpful.

Thanks,

Hi @Oderfliw,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I understand you’re having trouble connecting your HP printer to a new Wi-Fi network. Let’s go step by step to get your printer back online.

Reset your printer’s wireless settings

On your printer, press and hold the Wireless (📶) button for about 5 seconds until the light starts blinking.

This clears the old Wi-Fi settings and prepares the printer for a new network.

Check your Wi-Fi network

Make sure your new Wi-Fi is 2.4 GHz (many printers do not support 5 GHz-only networks).

Ensure you know the Wi-Fi name (SSID) and password.

Use HP Smart for setup

Download and open the HP Smart app on your phone or PC.

Tap Add Printer → Set up a New Printer.

Follow the prompts to connect your printer to the new Wi-Fi network.

Temporarily disable mobile data or VPN

If using a phone for setup, turn off mobile data.

VPNs can interfere with printer discovery.

Place the printer close to the router

Keep the printer within 6–8 feet of the Wi-Fi router during setup.

Weak signals can prevent successful connection.

Restart your network equipment

Power off the router and modem for 60 seconds, then power them back on.

This can fix temporary connectivity issues.

Confirm connection

After setup, the printer’s Wi-Fi light should be solid blue, indicating a successful connection.

Print a Network Configuration Page to confirm the printer has an IP address on the new Wi-Fi.

Add the printer to your devices

On your PC or phone, add the printer via Settings → Printers & Scanners, or directly through the HP Smart app.

I hope this helps.
