HP Deskjet 3520 e-All-in-One Printer
Microsoft Windows 11

I saw this question posted on another thread, and reply gave the below instructions - but they do not apply for me because I do not have option to choose network, or enter network password. I have tried WPS connection but it just times out without connecting. My router appears to have 2.4 and 5.0 connection options but I can't see how to force printer to choose 2.4 connection (as I think that one is required for this printer)

For reference - these are the instructions I found that do not work in my case:

Choose Your Network:

  • The printer will scan for available wireless networks. When your Three Mobile 5G network appears, select it.

Enter Network Password:

  • You will be prompted to enter the network password (security key) for your 5G network. Use the control panel to enter the password.

Connect:

  • After entering the correct password, the printer will attempt to connect to your 5G network. Once connected, you should see a confirmation message on the control panel.

Hi @pcallahan,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If you're unable to manually select the network or enter the network password on your HP Deskjet 3520 printer, and the WPS connection isn't working either, you might need to try a different approach. Here's a step-by-step guide to troubleshoot and connect your printer to your AT&T 5G Fiber Wireless Network.

  • Check Compatibility: Confirm that your HP Deskjet 3520 printer is compatible with the 5GHz frequency band. Some older printers only support 2.4GHz networks. If your printer doesn't support 5GHz, you won't be able to connect it directly to your AT&T 5G network.
  • Printer Setup: Ensure that your printer is properly set up and in a ready state. Make sure it's turned on and not displaying any error messages.
  • Reset Printer Network Settings: Sometimes, resetting the printer's network settings can help resolve connectivity issues. Refer to your printer's manual or support documentation to find instructions on how to reset the network settings.
  • Connect via WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup): If manual connection isn't working, try using WPS again. Press the WPS button on your AT&T router, then within a couple of minutes, press the WPS button on your printer. This should initiate the connection process automatically.
  • Use HP Smart App (Optional): If your printer supports it, you can try setting up the connection using the HP Smart app on your smartphone or computer. This app often provides easier setup options for connecting printers to Wi-Fi networks.
  • Check Router Settings: Log in to your AT&T router's administration interface (usually accessed via a web browser) and check if there are any settings related to network frequency or compatibility mode. You may be able to configure the router to broadcast separate SSIDs for 2.4GHz and 5GHz networks.

By following these steps, you should be able to troubleshoot and connect your HP Deskjet 3520 printer to your AT&T 5G Fiber Wireless Network.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
