HP Deskjet 3070A e-All-in-One Printer - B611a
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have a new router and Ive tried everything to connect the printer (Wi-Fi)  with no success.

Ive tried many suggestions I found on other posts....

1. if 1 inch from router.

2. Ive reset printer default settings  many many times

3. Ive turned everything off many many times

4. Ive tried the WPS method many times but only an error message on HP printer ("WPS error cannot connect")

5. Ive tried to connect printer via http/192.168.223.1  and go thru Wi-Fi smart connect wizard but that fails in error as it says "unsecure protocol" and wont connect.

I can connect to printer when I reset set, and run the HP smart connect BUT the printer will not connect to Wi-Fi network (2.4g network), (yes I've check password 10 times)

Is there some setting in the Router that is blocking the printer from connecting?   (and yes other devices connected to the Wi-Fi network no problem)

Hi @thjames,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to assist you.

I see that you are facing an issue with connecting your Printer to the network.

Please follow the steps below to connect your printer to the network again as the router was changed.

1) Uninstall the HP smart app by click on this link, Restart the computer or mobile device to clear possible error conditions.

2) Enable Wi-Fi setup mode: When you turn on your printer for the first time, it is temporarily placed in Wi-Fi setup mode so that it can be discovered during setup. Use the printer control panel to restore Wi-Fi setup mode, and then set up the printer again. Go to Restore Wi-Fi setup mode on your HP printer for more information.

3) Refer to this link to use the HP smart app on your phone/tablet/PC to add a printer.

Note: Enable Bluetooth for an HP Smart app setup: Enable Bluetooth on your computer or mobile device so that HP Smart can detect the printer during the setup.

Please mark this post as “Accepted Solution” if the issue is resolved and if you feel this reply was helpful click “Yes”.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a great day ahead!

Thanks BUT I did all that many times before and again as you described.  but it still wont connect properly.

When I use the (reinstalled) HP Smart App it finds the printer fine and i select "setup"

the HP smart (windows 10) app then goes thru the "Connect to Wifi"  (after i confirm the password for the 2G network which the PC is on.

BUT all I get is an error message ... (within the HP Smart App)

stage 1 printer found (okay) (which I guess connects me to the HP Printer wifi)

stage 2 Unable to configure the printer

Stage 3 unable to join the network

stage 4 restoring to your network

Hello,  thanks BUT Nope!

I shut down (restore) printer as you describe in (A) but nothing happens other than printer goes off, and then I turn back on however the HP Smart app cannot find the printer.

I then "Restore Defaults" on the printer (control panel) and then it can be found, so i again go thru the connection process (with HP Smart) and I still get an error message "Unable to connect printer to network"

yes i triple check the wifi password, and

during setup process the HP Smart does connect to the "HP-Setup-Deskjet" wifi which I assume is normal, and then upon unsuccessful connection it reconnects to my networks 2G wifi.

I will ask again, is there anything in a router setting that may prevent printer from connecting (i.e. security setting or something)??
