Hi @BelDenise

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your printer isn’t connecting to your new Wi-Fi network, here’s a step-by-step guide to help you reset the Wi-Fi settings and reconnect:

1. Reset Printer’s Network Settings

  1. Power On: Make sure the printer is powered on.
  2. Network Reset:
    • For many HP printers, you can reset the network settings by pressing and holding the Wireless button and the Cancel button (the red X) at the same time for about 5 seconds. This will reset the network settings to factory defaults.

2. Reconnect to New Wi-Fi

Using the Printer Control Panel

  1. Access Wireless Settings:
    • Navigate to the Wireless menu on the printer’s control panel. This may vary depending on your model.
  2. Select Wi-Fi Setup: Look for options like Wi-Fi Setup Wizard or Wireless Setup.
  3. Choose Your Network: The printer should search for available networks. Select your new Wi-Fi network from the list.
  4. Enter Password: Enter your new Wi-Fi password when prompted.

Using HP Smart App

  1. Download HP Smart: If you haven’t done so, download the HP Smart app from the HP website.
  2. Add Printer: Open the app and select “Add a printer”.
  3. Follow Prompts: Follow the on-screen instructions to connect the printer to the new Wi-Fi network.

3. Check Your Wi-Fi Configuration

  • Network Band: Ensure your printer supports the Wi-Fi band your router is using (2.4 GHz is often more compatible).
  • SSID Visibility: Make sure your Wi-Fi network is visible and not hidden.

4. Update Printer Firmware

  • If you can temporarily connect the printer via USB, check for firmware updates through the HP software.

5. Restart Devices

  • Restart your printer and your Wi-Fi router. Sometimes, a simple restart can resolve connectivity issues.

6. Factory Reset (if necessary)

  • If all else fails, you can perform a factory reset on the printer:
    1. Check your printer’s manual for specific instructions on how to perform a factory reset.
    2. This will erase all settings, so you’ll need to set it up again from scratch.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
