Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Issue: MAC address filtering may be enabled on your wireless router.
Solution: If MAC address filtering is enabled on your router you should disable it. If you would like to keep it enabled, you must first add the MAC address of your printer (shown above) to the list of permitted devices for you wireless router before continuing.

I just set up an Xfinity router and am getting this error when attempting to set up wireless printing with my existing printer.  This worked fine when i had my own NetGear router but this error happens with the Xfinity router.  I went into the router config and manually added the MAC address of the printer but it still wont connect wirelessly.  Any suggestions?

Mac address filtering is used to prevent certain IP address from accessing the modem.  This is part of a parental control modem feature.

If you need parental control or wish to block certain devices then you should block only those MAC addresses you wish to block.

Alternately if you routinely block ALL mac addresses then obviously you need to allow the printer's mac address to be used.

If your parental control feature has an "allowed time" then be sure the printer is set for be allowed access 24 / 7.

You may need to reset the printer: video here

WiFi setup to router using WPS:video here
the push button method is at 1:40 in video

Simple push button or WPS setup is described on page 199 of Users Manual and in video above.

Unless I am mistaken, that printer only uses the 2.4ghz WiFi band.  You may want to log into the modem and assign a different name for the 2.4ghz band.  if you are not using parental controls then reset the modem and then change the SSID name of the 2.4ghz band.

If you have a flex system (multiple wifi boosters) then there is a different problem and let me know.
