Hi @dtnut10877,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand you are trying to set up your new printer Not to worry I will help you to get a resolution to the issue.

Let’s work on setting up your new HP Smart Tank 7602 printer. Here’s what to do step by step:

1. Physical Setup

  • Unpack and inspect the printer for any visible damage. Remove all packing materials, tapes, and protective covers.
  • Connect the power cable and turn on the printer.
  • Install the ink tanks:
    1. Open the ink tank cover.
    2. Pour the provided ink into the respective color-coded tanks until full.
    3. Close the ink tank cover.
  • Install the printheads:
    1. Open the printhead access door.
    2. Install the black and tri-color printheads as instructed.
    3. Allow the printer to initialize.

2. Software Setup

Download and Install the HP Smart App:

  • Go to 123.hp.com or your app store to download the HP Smart app.
  • Install the app on your computer or smartphone.

Connect the Printer to WiFi:

  • Open the HP Smart app and sign in or create an HP account.
  • Follow the app instructions to add a new printer.
  • Ensure your computer or smartphone is connected to the same WiFi network.

Complete Setup:

  • Load plain paper in the input tray.
  • Allow the printer to print an alignment page. Scan this page if prompted for alignment.

3. Troubleshooting Setup Issues

If the setup doesn’t go smoothly:

Check WiFi Connectivity: Ensure your printer is in range of your router, and your WiFi is working.

Restart Devices: Restart your computer, printer, and router.

Factory Reset the Printer (if needed):

  • Press and hold the Resume and Wireless buttons on the printer for about 10 seconds.
  • Try setting it up again.

Reinstall the HP Smart App if the app doesn’t detect the printer.
