I had to change Internet providers and I have a new password.  I was able to keep the same Wi-Fi name.

How do I change the new password on my HP ENVY Pro 6455

Hi @pamc2424,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

Great question! Since you kept the same Wi-Fi name (SSID) but changed the password, your HP ENVY Pro 6455 needs to reconnect with the new credentials. Here’s how to do it:

Option 1: Use HP Smart App (Recommended)

  1. Download HP App (if not already installed):
👉 HP App – For HP Printers, Laptops, and Tech Accessories | HP® Official Site
  2. Open the app on your phone or PC.
  3. Tap Add Printer or select your printer if it’s listed.
  4. If the printer shows offline, tap Reconnect.
  5. Enter your new Wi-Fi password when prompted.
  6. Wait for the printer to connect (light turns solid blue).

Option 2: Use Printer Control Panel

  1. On the printer touchscreen:
    • Tap the Wireless icon.
    • Go to Settings → Wireless Setup Wizard.
  2. Select your Wi-Fi network (same name).
  3. Enter the new password.
  4. Confirm and wait for the connection (solid blue light).

Option 3: If the Printer Won’t Connect

  • Reset Network Settings
    • On the printer: Settings → Network Settings → Restore Network Defaults.
    • Then reconnect using the HP app or the Wireless Setup Wizard.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
