Hi @AnneS2648,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
To resolve the issue where your HP Neverstop Laser MFP 1202w printer can't find the network after setting up a new modem and router, try the following steps.
Check Wi-Fi Settings:
- Make sure your new router’s Wi-Fi is active and working with other devices. Double-check if the Wi-Fi network name (SSID) is the same as before. If the SSID or password changed, your printer will need to be updated.
Restart the Printer and Router:
- Turn off both your printer and new router. Wait for about 30 seconds, then turn both back on. Sometimes a fresh restart can help with connectivity.
Reconnect the Printer to Wi-Fi:
- Using the Printer’s Control Panel:
- On your printer, press the Wireless button to enable wireless setup mode. The light should start blinking.
- Go to your iMac and download or open the HP Smart app from the Mac App Store if you don't have it already.
- Follow the instructions in the HP Smart app to connect your printer to the new Wi-Fi network. You may need to enter your new Wi-Fi network’s name (SSID) and password during the setup.
Use WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup) (if your router supports it):
- If your new router supports WPS, press the WPS button on the router (usually found on the back or side).
- Within 2 minutes, press and hold the Wireless button on the printer until the Wi-Fi light starts blinking.
- The printer should automatically connect to the router via WPS.
Reset Network Settings on Printer:
- If the above steps don’t work, you can reset the printer’s network settings to try again.
- On the printer’s control panel, go to Setup > Network > Restore Network Settings.
- After resetting, follow the steps to reconnect the printer to the Wi-Fi network.
Ensure Router Compatibility:
- Verify your router is set to use a 2.4 GHz frequency for Wi-Fi, as many printers, including the HP Neverstop Laser MFP 1202w, do not support 5 GHz networks.

Update Printer Firmware:
- If the printer is still not connecting, you might need to update the firmware. Check for any available updates using the HP Smart app or the printer's web interface (by entering the printer's IP address into a browser).
After following these steps, your printer should be able to reconnect to the network. Let me know if you encounter any issues during the process!
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.

I have the same issue with my xfinity modem. My HP printer always connected until I set up this new modem. Not is sees the modem, but won't connect. No one one has a solution, Xfinity or HP. Any other ideas. Please do not give me the list already on here. None of that works, or some of the advanced options I don't know how to do. I need an HP rep.

Hello, I was able to get my printer working with the new modem by using the HP Smart app. It should have come with the printer. On HP Smart there is a button - Set up or add printer. I believe that's what I used. My problem was that the computer didn't even see the printer at all. At first I thought the problem was that the IP address had changed with the new modem but I think the name of the network just has to be the same. I have the printer connected to the modem via wi-fi. Good luck!
