Hi @JoyAnne1977,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you want to connect your HP ENVY 6052e All-In-One Printer to a new Wi-Fi network, follow these steps:
May I know the operating system windows or Mac OS?
Method 1: Using the HP Smart App
Download and Install the HP Smart App:
- If you haven't already, download the HP Smart app on your smartphone or computer. It's available on the App Store (iOS) and Google Play Store (Android), or you can download it for your PC/Mac from the HP website.
Prepare the Printer:
- Make sure the printer is turned on.
- If the printer is already connected to an old network, reset the network settings. On the printer's control panel, press and hold the Wireless button and the Cancel button together for 3 seconds. This will reset the network settings.
Open the HP Smart App:
- Open the HP Smart app and select “Add Printer.” The app will search for printers.
- If your printer is not found, tap on “Set up a new printer.”
Connect to the Printer:
- Follow the on-screen instructions to connect the printer to the new Wi-Fi network. You may be asked to temporarily connect your device to the printer’s Wi-Fi Direct network (which usually starts with “DIRECT”).
Enter Wi-Fi Details:
- Enter the new Wi-Fi network name (SSID) and password when prompted. The app will configure the printer to connect to the new Wi-Fi network.
Complete the Setup:
- Once connected, the app will confirm the connection, and you can complete the setup.
Method 2: Using the Printer Control Panel
Turn on the Printer:
- Ensure the printer is powered on.
Access Wireless Setup Mode:
- On the printer’s control panel, touch the Wireless icon to access the Wireless menu.
- Go to “Settings” or “Setup” and select “Wireless Setup Wizard.” This will start the process to search for available networks.
Select Your New Network:
- From the list of available networks, select your new Wi-Fi network.
- Enter the Wi-Fi password when prompted.
Confirm Connection:
- Once connected, the printer will display a confirmation message. You can print a network configuration page to confirm the printer is connected to the new network.
Troubleshooting Tips
Ensure Printer is in Range:
- Make sure the printer is within range of your new Wi-Fi router.
Restart Devices:
- Restart both the printer and your Wi-Fi router if the connection fails.
Check for Updates: Update the firmware on an HP printer
- Ensure your printer’s firmware is up to date. You can update the firmware through the HP Smart app or the printer’s control panel.
Reset Network Settings:
- If you encounter issues, reset the network settings by pressing and holding the Wireless and Cancel buttons together for 3 seconds, then try the setup process again.
