Common problems for Connectivity Issues

HP Deskjet 4130e

I changed the Tri Color cartridge and cannot restart the printer.

The printer will not connect to my home wifi.

Tried everything that I know.

Shutdown 

Reset

Reboot router 

Delete HP app and download again

Delete and reinstate the printer.

The app says " no connectivity"

Here are some steps you can follow to resolve the connectivity issue with your HP DeskJet 4130e printer:
 

Verify Network Compatibility

  1. Check Wi-Fi Settings: Ensure your router is broadcasting a 2.4 GHz band, as many HP printers only support this frequency. Confirm the printer is attempting to connect to this band.
     
  2. Ensure Proper Network Connection: Verify that your printer and computer/mobile device are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.

Reset Network Settings

  1. Reset Wireless Settings: On your printer, press and hold the Wireless button for about 5 seconds. This should restore the printer’s network settings to factory defaults. The lighting should flash blue to indicate it's ready for setup.

Re-establish Wireless Connection

HP App Setup:
 

Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS):
 

  • If you have a WPS-compatible router, press the WPS button on your router.
  • Within two minutes, press the Wireless button on your printer.

Update Printer Software and Firmware

  1. Update Software and Drivers: Visit HP's Software and Driver Downloads to ensure you have the latest printer drivers installed.
     
  2. Update Firmware: Use the HP Smart app to check for available firmware updates and install them if necessary.
