Hi my envy 6000e will not connect to my WiFi what ever I do. Is there a factory reset? Or is there anything else I can do? Thanks

Hi @Cheiftain,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I understand your HP ENVY 6000e printer is not connecting to your WiFi. You can try a factory reset and other troubleshooting steps to resolve the issue. Here’s how you can do it:

Factory Reset

Restore Factory Defaults:

  • Press and hold the Wireless button on the back of the printer for five seconds to reset the wireless connection settings.

Factory Reset via HP App:

  • Open the HP app on your computer or mobile device.
  • Go to the "Printer Settings" section.
  • Select "Restore Factory Defaults" and follow the instructions on the app to complete the process.

Additional Steps

Re-Add Printer in HP App:

  • After resetting, open the HP app, hide or remove the printer, and then re-add it to the app.

Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS):

  • If your router supports WPS, press the WPS button on your router.
  • Then press and hold the Wireless button on your printer to enable WPS mode, which should connect your printer to the network (indicated by a purple light moving to the edges).

Check Wi-Fi Direct:

  • Ensure that Wi-Fi Direct is not interfering with the regular Wi-Fi setup. You can temporarily disable it from the HP Smart app or printer settings.

Network Trouble:

  • Ensure that your network name (SSID) and password are entered correctly.
  • Verify there are no network issues by checking if other devices can connect to the same Wi-Fi.

Router Proximity:

  • Make sure that the printer is within the range of the WiFi signal.
  • Avoid placing the printer too close to metal objects or devices like microwaves that may interfere with the Wi-Fi signal.

Firmware Updates:

  • Check for any firmware updates for your printer and router, as these can often resolve connectivity issues.

    I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
