Haven't had a problem before.  Printer says Cannot Print.  This is second time I prepaid postage and can't get the label to print.

Hi @Nancy62119,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP printer is having trouble printing USPS labels despite having worked well before, here are some troubleshooting steps you can follow.

Check Printer Status:

  • Ensure your printer is online and connected to your computer or network properly.
  • Verify there are no errors or warning messages displayed on the printer itself.

Printer Queue:

  • Go to "System Preferences" > "Printers & Scanners" on your Mac or "Devices and Printers" in Windows.
  • Select your printer and open the print queue to see if there are any stuck jobs. Clear any stuck print jobs if necessary.

Paper and Ink/Toner:

  • Ensure there is sufficient paper in the printer tray.
  • Check ink or toner levels and replace them if needed.

Connection Issues:

  • For a network printer, ensure that the printer is connected to the same network as your computer.
  • For USB connections, ensure the cable is firmly connected at both ends.

Driver and Software Update:

  • Make sure you have the latest printer drivers and firmware installed. Visit the HP website to download the latest software: HP Software and Drivers.

File Format and Size:

  • Ensure the sent file size and format are supported by the printer. Try printing a different file type or a test document to see if the problem persists.

Use Print Preview:

  • Before printing, use the Print Preview option to ensure the label format is correct and fully fits the printable area.

Alternative Browser or Application:

  • Try printing from a different web browser or application if you’re printing the label from a browser.

If these steps do not resolve the issue, you might also consider contacting USPS to see if they can assist with label printing settings or provide alternative options for obtaining a printed label.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
