Common problems for Connectivity Issues
We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about Printer Wi-Fi, Connectivity Issues and Offline Status. Check out this link: HP printer is offline or unavailable.

Hi, I'm really struggling to get my printer to print. I have just bought 2810e printer and completed the setup fine. However, I'm yet to successfully print anything (word document/image/adobe pdf). Yet I can scan documents, which suggests it shouldn't be a connectivity issue then.

My wifi connection is strong; I have checked the IP addresses and the printer is definitely connected to the correct wifi network with my router. I have restarted my laptop, even uninstalled and reinstalled programmes; also unplugged the printer and rebooted - nothing works!

I'm not even able to delete the print jobs - they're constantly 'in process' but remain there even after 3 days.

This is actually the 3rd printer within the past 4 months, with the same issue. With previous printers (envy 6530e and 6132e), I have  at least intermittently been able to print (e.g one page, then 5 minutes later it stops working for no apparent reason).

Any advice to try and resolve the issue would be greatly appreciated!

Hi @181623delta

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

Thanks for sharing everything you’ve tried—I’m really sorry this has been such a persistent and exhausting experience. You’ve done a tremendous job troubleshooting already, and I completely understand how frustrating it is when scanning works but printing doesn’t, especially across multiple printers.

Let’s walk through a clean recovery sequence that targets the print queue, driver, and communication path to get your HP DeskJet 2810e printing reliably.

Step-by-Step: Restore Printing on HP DeskJet 2810e (Windows 11)

1. Clear the Print Queue Completely

  1. Press Windows + R, type control printers, and press Enter.
  2. Right-click your printer > See what’s printing.
  3. Cancel all jobs. If they won’t delete:
    • Press Windows + R, type services.msc, and press Enter.
    • Scroll to Print Spooler, right-click > Stop.
    • Go to C:\Windows\System32\spool\PRINTERS and delete all files.
    • Return to services.msc, right-click Print Spooler > Start.

This clears stuck jobs that block new print attempts.

2. Remove and Reinstall the Printer

  1. Go to Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Printers & scanners.
  2. Click your printer > Remove.
  3. Open the HP App, tap Add Printer, and follow the setup steps.
  4. Confirm the printer shows as Ready and Connected.

3. Set the Printer as Default

  • Go to Settings > Printers & scanners.
  • Click your printer > Set as default.
  • Try printing a test page from Printer Properties > Print Test Page.

4. Update the Printer Driver

Visit the official HP support page:
HP DeskJet 2810e Drivers and Software

Select Windows 11 and download:

  • Full Software and Drivers
  • Printer Firmware Update Utility

Install both, then restart your PC and printer.

5. Print from HP App or Microsoft Word

  • Open the document in Word, Adobe Reader, or Photos.
  • Tap Print > Select Printer > Preferences.
  • Confirm paper size, color mode, and tray settings.
  • Click Print and monitor the queue.

Let me know how the printer responds after clearing the spooler and reinstalling. You’ve been incredibly patient—and I’ll help you get this working smoothly. You deserve a reliable, effortless print experience.

If my response helped, please mark it as an Accepted Solution It helps others and spreads support. 💙 Also, tapping "Yes" on "Was this reply helpful?" makes a big difference! Thanks! 😊

Take care, and have an amazing day!
