Hi @Fred2c,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP Envy 6000 is showing an orange light when trying to print, it typically indicates an issue with the printer. Here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try.

Check Ink Levels: Ensure that the ink cartridges have enough ink and are properly installed. Sometimes, low or empty ink cartridges can trigger an error.

Paper Jam: Check for any paper jams inside the printer. Even a small piece of paper can cause issues.

Printer Status: Look at the printer’s display or any app connected to it for any specific error messages or status indicators.

Reset the Printer:

  • Turn off the printer.
  • Unplug it from the power source.
  • Wait for about 60 seconds.
  • Plug it back in and turn it on.

Check Connections: Ensure that all cables are securely connected and that the printer is properly connected to your computer or network.

Firmware/Software Updates: Check if there are any available firmware updates for your printer and install them if needed.

Printer Queue: Check the printer queue on your computer to ensure there are no stuck print jobs causing the issue. Clear any pending jobs and try printing again.

Printer Diagnostic Tools: Use HP’s diagnostic tools or HP Smart app to run a diagnostic check on the printer.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
