Hi @jody52,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand you are getting the OW_500_OWSID000 error on HP printers. It is typically related to a server or authentication issue, possibly with HP's online services like HP Smart or Instant Ink.

Here are steps your aunt can try to resolve the issue:

1. Check the HP Smart Account

  • Make sure your aunt is logged into the correct HP Smart account.
  • If she's recently made changes (e.g., password reset, changed email), try logging out and back into the account.
  • If she's using Instant Ink, ensure the account details are correct, as misconfigured accounts can lead to authentication errors.

2. Restart Devices

  • Restart the printer, computer, and router.
  • Disconnect the printer from power for at least 30 seconds before reconnecting.
  • Restart the computer and router to reset any connection issues.

3. Update HP Smart App HP printer setup (HP Smart app)

  • Ensure the HP Smart app is updated to the latest version on her device.
  • If on mobile or PC, try uninstalling and reinstalling the app.

4. Check Internet Connection

  • Ensure that the printer is properly connected to the WiFi network.
  • Check if other devices on the same network are facing connection issues.
  • If the WiFi signal is weak, consider moving the printer closer to the router.

5. Firmware Update Update the firmware on an HP printer

  • Check for a firmware update for the HP ENVY Pro 6452 printer. This can be done through the HP Smart app or the printer’s settings.
  • Sometimes errors like this are resolved by updating the firmware.

6. Reset Web Services

  • On the printer’s control panel, try disabling and re-enabling web services.
  • Re-enable the services after a minute and follow any prompts to reconnect.
