This is a new printer.  The wifi light does not light up when printer is on.  Could it be a faulty printer?

@Griffin-B, Welcome to the HP Support Community! I’m here to help.

If the wireless feature on the printer is not turned on, the blue light will remain off.

It will light up only if the wireless radio is ON.

On the printer screen, go to Setup > Network Setup > Restore network settings

Go back to Network > Wireless > Wireless setup wizard and select your network.

If the blue light is blinking, it means the printer is not yet connected to a wireless network.

If the blue light is steady, it means it is connected.

For assistance with printing from an iOS device, refer to - HP printer setup (Apple AirPrint for iPhone, iPad)

Hope this helps! Let me know how it goes.
