HP OfficeJet Pro 9015 All-in-One Printer

The blue light indicating wireless connection is not illuminated.  I have a message: IP Address: Not Connected with an orange triangle with an exclamation point inside it.  I have restarted both printer and router, as well as done a factory reset.  I attempted using a printer cable to my MacBook Pro, then opened the HP Smart App to access the printers embedded webserver, since the printer is likely in the Administratively Disabled state.  However, while the printer does show up on the app home screen, when I click it to enter it to the app, my wifi cannot be found, nor entered manually.

Is there a technician available to help?

Thank you, any help appreciated.

Hi @7143963165,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like you're experiencing a persistent issue with your HP OfficeJet Pro 9015's wireless connection. Here are some steps to troubleshoot and resolve the issue.

Check Wireless Settings:

  • Ensure that the printer's wireless feature is enabled. This can often be done through the printer's control panel:
    • From the Home screen on the printer control panel, swipe down to open the Dashboard.
    • Touch the Wireless icon, then touch the Settings icon.
    • Ensure that Wireless Settings are turned on.

Network Configuration Page:

  • Print a Network Configuration Page to check the status of the wireless connection:
    • From the Home screen, touch the Wireless icon, then touch Print Reports or Print Network Configuration.

Run Wireless Setup Wizard:

  • From the printer control panel, access the Wireless Settings and run the Wireless Setup Wizard to reconnect to your network.
  • Ensure your Wi-Fi network name (SSID) and password are correct.

Update Printer Firmware:

  • Make sure your printer's firmware is up to date. You can download and install the latest firmware from the HP website or using the HP Smart App if connected via USB.

Reconfigure Printer Network Settings:

  • Since the printer is connected via a USB cable to your MacBook Pro, use the HP Smart App to reconfigure the printer's wireless settings:
    • Open the HP Smart App and select your printer.
    • Go to Advanced Settings or Printer Settings.
    • Access the Networking tab, then Wireless (802.11).
    • Run the Wireless Setup Wizard again to reconnect to your network.

Check Router Settings:

  • Ensure that your router is not blocking the printer. Check the router's settings for MAC address filtering and temporarily disable it to see if the printer can connect.
  • Verify that the router's firmware is up to date.

Reset Network Settings:

  • Perform a network settings reset on the printer:
    • From the printer control panel, access the Setup menu.
    • Navigate to Network Setup and select Restore Network Settings.

Check for Interference:

  • Ensure there is no significant wireless interference from other devices or physical barriers between the printer and the router.

Manually Assign IP Address:

  • If the printer still does not connect, you can try assigning a static IP address:
    • On the printer control panel, navigate to Settings > Network Settings > IP Settings > Manual IP.
    • Assign a static IP address within your router's range but outside the DHCP range to avoid conflicts.

By following these steps, you should be able to diagnose and potentially fix the wireless connection issue with your HP OfficeJet Pro 9015.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
