I have an Officejet Pro 8600. It refuses to connect to the wireless network. When I try to go through the steps to reconnect, it will not allow it. The touchscreen says, "The feature has been locked by your system administrator..." Well, I was the administrator that set it up! So what is wrong?

You may need to do a factory reset

I cannot execute either method. I don't get the opportunity to press the arrow 4 times in the first method. Second method, I am locked out of the wireless settings altogether and cannot select them, getting the error message I noted previously. (The feature has been locked by your system administrator.)

I do not have this printer and googling I see there are several versions: Plus, Premium and n911g and not consensus on how to reset other than calling for support or getting a secret message from an HP employee.
The secret menu video where you cannot see the button (its hidden):

lemme know if this works else call hp even if out of warranty

I was able to do the factory reset so I could go in and reconnect to the WiFi. However, for some reason, the printer will now not connect to the WiFi. I never had trouble before, but now it just will not do it. It gives a message about the WPS on the router, but I never had to do anything like that before. So I hit Skip and then just select my WiFi network and input the WiFi key. But it refuses to connect. I have no idea what the issue is now. I appreciate you providing the support links. The printer is out of warranty, but I may contact them to see if there is something I can do to get it working.

The first part of this video shows how to connect using the SSID and password. The second part explains the WPS pushbutton method

If you cannot connect using the SSID, password, then log into your modem and configure a different name for each band,
and the cleanest channel at the same time.
I have an Arris modem, yours may be different. This tutorial is helpful. The username might be admin and the password should be printed somewhere on the modem. If not, then use that tutorial. Use a different name for the 2.4 and the 5ghz bands. To keep it simple, use the same password and use only numeric digits such as someone's phone number. When in the router, run the app that finds the channel with the least amount of noise for both bands.
