My brand new Officejet Pro 9730e keeps loosing the wifi connection. The only way to get it online again is to shut and restart the printer. The wifi connection is excellent and other hardware have no wifi problems.
How do I fix this.

Welcome to the HP English Community --
"Excellent" until fail -
A few possible reasons for this type of behavior can include the following.
============================================================
Dual Band Network - (and) configured for only one SSID named network for both frequencies (2.4GHz and 5GHz).
- Single named SSID named networks are more difficult for the printer to navigate.
- The general solution: Assign a separate SSID named network for each frequency - Connect the printer to the frequency you want the printer to use.
This printer also supports Band Frequency selection in EWS.
---------------------------------------------------------------
Using DHCP as opposed to running the printer with its own manual / static IP address
- If the printer loses connection and cannot find the network, it will remain disconnected until restarted when it can connect to a new / next / available IP address.
- The general solution: Assign the printer its own IP address on both the printer and in the router.
Note: It is not mandatory that you use a manual / static IP address. Doing so can improve stability.
Example – Alternate EWS format (Select new printers and some Laser Printers)
Open your Browser > Type / enter the Printer IP address into URL / Address bar
Section Network > Primary Ethernet > Check / Adjust Status and other tabs...
Open your Browser > Type / enter the Printer IP address into URL / Address bar
Section Network > Wi-Fi > Section IP Config > IPv4
EWS_9135_Network_Wi-Fi_IP_Config_IPv4_2
============================================================
Obstructions, distance, changing levels of service, crowded network, odd errors
- The printer might drop off the network for any of these reasons -- If the printer cannot find its way back using the SSID named network it was assigned, and / or the IP address assigned to the printer, the printer must wait to be restarted to rejoin the network.
- The general solutions: Network dependent -- Reduce traffic, correct missing configurations, increase monitoring to narrow down where the failure is located (printer logs and router logs).
