Hi @chatchett,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like your HP Envy 6055 is experiencing a few issues simultaneously. Here's a step-by-step guide to troubleshoot the problems.
Check Cartridges:
- Ensure that the cartridges are properly installed. Remove and reinstall them to make sure they are seated correctly.
- Check for any protective tape or plastic that might still be on the cartridges.
- Make sure the cartridges are compatible and not expired.
Printer Reset:
- Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source. Wait for about 60 seconds, then plug it back in and turn it on. This can sometimes resolve temporary issues.
Check for Error Messages:
- Look for any specific error messages on the printer’s display or on your computer. This might give more insight into the problem.
Update Printer Firmware:
- Make sure your printer’s firmware is up-to-date. You can check for updates through the HP Smart app or HP’s website.
Reconnect to Network:
- If the printer is offline, try reconnecting it to your network. Ensure that your printer and computer are on the same network.
Clean Printer Contacts:
- If the problem persists, clean the contacts on both the printer and the cartridges with a soft, lint-free cloth.
Replace Cartridges:
- Since you mentioned that the new cartridges were installed recently, they should be good, but if the problem continues, try using a different set of cartridges to rule out any issues with the new ones.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
