My printer indicated a paper jam, but I checked the front and back and no such issue. I tried to contact HP customer service, but got an AI Chat Assistant who referred me to a tech who said that my 10-year old printer needed replacement. Then I was referred to another technician, who wanted to access my computer remotely and remove any malware and install a firewall. I thought this was a HP tech, but found out subsequently it was someone from Ovron Inc. He seemed like a nice guy, but wanted to send me a new printer and enroll me in a prolonged warranty and sign a document authorizing payment.
I got very suspicious and told him I need more time to think about it. Has anyone out there had a similar experience with Ovron? Is this a scam?

Hi @DrTarponMD1,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to assist you.
I see that there is an issue with the printer hardware and may need an upgrade.
Please do not get in touch with any other support team apart from HP directly as it can be a scam.
