Common problems for Connectivity Issues

Envy 5055
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I installed the Envy 5055 printer and initially had no issues with it. I was printing from my PC and it worked fine. My wireless router from Shaw (bluewave) only has two ethernet ports, so I plugged one of the ethernet cables into the internet in port of a D-Link router, and have ethernet out going to several devices, including my PC to increase speed. I have no issues getting on the internet with my PC from the ethernet port of the D-link. All of our wireless devices are connecting to the Shaw Cable Bluewave as normal.

However, my HP Smart program now always says my printer is offline. My printer is lit up, it has an IP address, the same one it was issued by the bluewave the first time I set it up. In fact, by entering in my printer's IP address into my PC's browser, I can pull up the Enabled Web Server. So why can't any of my programs print to it and why can't HP Smart on my PC see it? I can print via email and also by using an app on my phone. I can scan from webscan from inside the Enabled Web Server. I tried re-installing HP Smart, but that hasn't helped. It still says printer offline, while simultaneously, I am on the enabled web server from another tab on the same PC.

It appears plugging the ethernet cord for the PC into the Shaw Cable Bluewave directly instead of the D-Link router resolved the issue instantly, but I still find it odd. Shouldn't it work through a 2nd router as well?

@Hammer979, Welcome to HP Support Community!

Well, it should work from the second router too, but the question is if the second router is configured correctly?

Meanwhile, Use HP Print and Scan Doctor

Download HP Print and Scan Doctor and run the program. It will automatically diagnose and fix any printer connectivity issues.
