Indeed.

See https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Printers-Knowledge-Base/quot-HPxxxxx-framework-quot-will-damage-your-c...

It is a bit disturbing that the link points to HP drivers that are documented to date from 2017 but just proceed: it is officially distributed from Apple support site and effectively solved the issue for me.

I have the exact same errors and problem.  I downloaded the drivers but it won't allow me to install it because it gave another error "ScanEventHandler" will damage your computer!

This is a brand new computer from Apple and this is extremely frustrating to say the least! I'm about ready to blow a **bleep**ing gasket! This is **bleep**!

Hi - I think the key (for our end users) was the removal of the full HP folder.

First, remove the printers. Second, delete the HP folder. Third, download and install the Apple-supplied drivers.

These are in posts a bit earlier in this thread. There is another way - using the HP easy tool (check that link out earlier in the chain).

It's an awful mess and apparently neither Apple nor HP wants to help make the fix silent or at least easy.

Deleting the printer under System Preference, Printers & Scanners and then adding it back solved my problem also.

I tried other suggestions in this overall thread by deleting and reloading my HP printer but that didn't work. Downloading the HP Printer Drivers v5.1 for OS X worked. Took a long time to download but installation went well. Readded my printer over installation of driver and all is good. Thanks Seh7v7!!

thankyou this one worked!

I hope all of you in this thread can see my followup comment.

As indicated, the download worked well but it changed the way my printer operated overall. The most annoying thing was how it changed scanning. I did four very important and moderately urgent scans and it saved it in a place I couldn't even find on my computer. So I had to change that to an appropriate file and then re-scan all the documents, so pay attention to where it's saving the scans! The rest of the settings seem fine.

For my printer who has the same probleme, a simply stop/start works. I hope the same for you.

Hi All,  Bless your hearts for coming up with fixes and work-arounds.

But I seriously doubt my problem can be resolved, as I am working on a MacBook Pro / Catalina ***which has no CD-ROM slot*** to do any re-installation of my ANCIENT HP PSC1300/1350 printer dating from like 2003.

My faithful and NOT defective printer is so old, HP doesn't even list it anymore, much less support it. It was installed about two  (three?) laptops ago and has been simply carried over onto new ones over the years, including this MacBook Pro two years ago...

So I am extremely hesitant to "just delete my printer", because AFAIK then I have zero way to re-install it.

Does that really mean that my only recourse  is to now trash (ahem! "recycle") a fully functional printer b/c it's too old?

CAVEAT: my OS **is** due to update to BigSur.

Raise your hands, how many are certain (!) that THAT will be the resolution?

Thanks again for your time and (far greater) expertise.

Okay -- "re-replying", as I have now indeed found a download link for this ancient printer (also thanks to y'all on this site).

So at least some of what I originally wrote is as obsolete as my printer.
😉
Thanks for your patience and indulgence.

Good luck to all...
