Never in my life have I had a more problematic printer than this HP LaserJetPro M203dw. Today's effort to assure an unproductive day is this. Getting the bleeping yellow orange triangle. I have rebooted a thousand times. HPSmart most unhelpfully tells me "Print Que issue is not fixed" with no guidance on where to do next. I have opened the machine, looked for offending jams, repositioned the paper, and toner catrididge. I have blasted with duster spray to no avail.

Hi @standenman,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds incredibly frustrating to deal with persistent printer issues, especially when you're trying to be productive. Let's try to troubleshoot your HP LaserJet Pro M203dw and see if we can resolve the problem. Here are some steps you can follow.
Check Printer Status and Error Codes
- Control Panel: Look at the printer's control panel for any specific error codes or messages beyond the yellow-orange triangle. These can provide clues about the issue.
Check Print Queue
- Clear Print Queue: Go to your computer’s print queue and clear any stuck print jobs.
- On Windows: Go to "Devices and Printers", right-click your printer, and select "See what's printing". Cancel all documents.
- On Mac: Open "System Preferences", select "Printers & Scanners", choose your printer, and click "Open Print Queue". Cancel all jobs.
Reinstall Printer Drivers
- Download Latest Drivers: Go to the HP support website and download the latest drivers for your printer model.
- Uninstall Current Drivers: Remove the current printer drivers from your computer.
- Install New Drivers: Install the newly downloaded drivers and try printing again.
Check Paper and Cartridge Placement
- Recheck Paper Tray: Ensure the paper is loaded correctly, not too tight, and that it’s the correct type for your printer.
- Reinsert Cartridge: Take out the toner cartridge, shake it gently to distribute the toner, and reinstall it securely.
Perform a Hard Reset
- Turn Off: Completely turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
- Wait: Leave it unplugged for a minute.
- Turn On: Plug it back in and turn it on.
Update Firmware
- Firmware Update: Sometimes a firmware update can fix issues. Go to the HP website, find your printer model, and check for any available firmware updates.
Network Issues
- Check Network Connection: Ensure your printer is properly connected to your Wi-Fi network if you’re using wireless printing.
- Reconnect to Wi-Fi: If necessary, forget the network on your printer and reconnect.
Use HP Print and Scan Doctor
- HP Tool: Download and run the HP Print and Scan Doctor tool. This utility can diagnose and fix many printing and scanning problems.
Check for Hardware Issues
- Jam Check: Ensure there are no paper jams or foreign objects inside the printer.
- Sensor Check: Make sure all sensors and latches are functioning correctly and are not obstructed.
Hopefully, one of these steps helps resolve your issue with the HP LaserJet Pro M203dw.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
