PRINTER ALWAYS OFFLINE

I’m getting very annoyed! Every time I got to use my printer it’s offline. Every single time and it’s a headache trying to get it back online. I don’t understand why this is happening. Can’t someone please help me I can’t call anyone because supposedly out of warranty. Definitely isn’t fair I’m ready tot throw this printer out if I’m going to continue having this problem!

I understand how frustrating that can be. Let's try a few troubleshooting steps to get your printer back online and hopefully prevent this issue from recurring.

1. Check the Printer's Connection

• Wi-Fi Connection: Ensure your printer is connected to your Wi-Fi network. The Wi-Fi light on the printer should be solid (not blinking).
• Network Connection: Make sure your Mac and printer are on the same Wi-Fi network.

2. Restart Devices

• Printer: Turn off your printer, wait for about 30 seconds, and then turn it back on.
• Router: Restart your Wi-Fi router.
• Mac: Restart your Mac.

3. Check Printer Settings

• Go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners.
• Select your printer from the list on the left.
• Click on Options & Supplies and then the Utility tab. Open the printer utility and check the status.

4. Reset the Printing System

1. Go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners.
2. Right-click (or Control-click) in the Printers list.
3. Select Reset printing system.
4. This will remove all printers. You can then re-add your printer.

5. Update Printer Firmware and Drivers Update the firmware on an HP printer

• Visit the HP support website and download the latest firmware and drivers for your HP ENVY 6055.

6. HP Smart App

• Download and install the HP Smart App from the App Store.
• Use the app to connect and manage your printer.

7. Manual IP Address

Assign a static IP address to your printer to ensure it doesn’t change, which can cause connectivity issues.

• Access your router settings (usually by typing 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1 into a web browser).
• Find the DHCP settings and reserve an IP address for your printer.

8. Check for Interference

Ensure there are no physical obstructions or electronic devices (like microwaves or cordless phones) that could interfere with the Wi-Fi signal between your printer and router.

9. Reinstall Printer

1. Go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners.
2. Remove the printer by selecting it and clicking the minus (-) button.
3. Re-add the printer by clicking the plus (+) button and following the on-screen instructions.
