Hi @Lizziehey,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand the error code "0x61000074" on your HP OfficeJet 5258 All-in-One Printer indicates that there is a hardware issue with the printer or the print system. Here are some steps you can try to resolve this issue:

Restart the Printer: You mentioned you've already tried turning it off and on, but it's worth trying again:

  • Turn off the printer and unplug the power cord from the back of the printer and from the wall outlet.
  • Wait for about 1 minute.
  • Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet first, and then reconnect it to the printer.
  • Turn the printer back on.

Check for Paper Jams: Even if there's no paper visible, there might be a small piece stuck inside causing the error. Open the printer and check carefully.

Reset the Printer:

  • With the printer on, disconnect the power cord from the printer.
  • Wait for about 60 seconds.
  • Plug the power cord back into the printer.
  • Turn the printer on if it does not turn on automatically.

Check Ink Cartridges: Ensure that all ink cartridges are properly installed and have sufficient ink.

Update Printer Firmware: Sometimes, updating the printer's firmware can resolve issues. Check HP's official website for any available updates for your printer model and follow the instructions to update the firmware. Update the firmware on an HP printer

Clean the Print Head: If possible, use the printer's maintenance menu (accessible through the printer's control panel or via the HP printer software on your computer) to clean the print head.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
