HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M283fdw
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello Community,

I'm trying to enable WiFi Direct and/or HP ePrint and/or hpeprint.com on my HP Color LaserJet MFP M283fdw. Network WiFi is on, and I can print from my personal computers. I work from home, and I can't print from my work computer because the company VPN doesn't see the printer on my local network.

When I try to enable Direct and ePrint I'm asked for a password, but I don't recall ever setting one. I read through prior requests from the community, and I see that 12345678 is the default password, but that doesn't work. My firmware date, if it's relevant, is 20230705.

Just to make sure I tried my router password which also didn't work.

How can I reset the admin password so I can enable these features of the printer. I'm not opposed to resetting the printer to defaults if that would reset the password to 12345678 if there is a way to do that.

I'm stuck. Any help would be appreciated.

-Douglas
