Reasonably experienced user.

2700 Hp All in one. Just can't pass hurdle "printer is offline". Router and printer restarted but it found the printer in the same state it started at. All I need is to set up new password and it should be good to go....but its not happening. Too many automated processes bring me back to "printer is offline"

Hi @Melbro2,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP DeskJet Ink Advantage 2700 All-in-One printer is showing as offline and you're unable to reconnect it after changing the password, here are some steps to troubleshoot and resolve the issue.

Update Printer Settings:

  • Since you mentioned that a password change led to the issue, ensure that the new password is updated in your printer's settings.

Reset Network Settings on the Printer:

  • To reset the network settings:
    • Press and hold the Wireless button along with the Cancel button until the Power button blinks. This should reset the Wi-Fi settings and allow you to reconfigure the network.

Reconfigure Wireless Settings:

  • Use the HP App on your mobile or computer to set up the printer again with the current Wi-Fi network and password.
  • Follow the instructions within the app to add the printer back to your wireless network.

Ensure Correct Network Selection:

  • Make sure both your computer and the printer are connected to the same Wi-Fi network. Sometimes, a device might inadvertently connect to another available network.

Check Printer Status on PC:

  • Make sure the printer is set as the default printer on your computer.
  • In the Devices and Printers settings on your computer, check if the printer status is set to Use Printer Online.

Restart Devices:

  • Restart your computer, router, and printer to clear any network cache and try reconnecting.

Disable 3rd Party Firewalls:

  • Sometimes firewalls from security software can cause connectivity issues. Temporarily disable them to see if the printer comes online.

Regular Troubleshooting:

  • Use HP Print and Scan Doctor to help diagnose and fix any issues.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

Hi,

It was good information thank you....that eventually worked. Like we were missing something on the way, but no, it just reacted differently the final time and we were sorted. Four eyes watching on 2x 2700 printers, both locked out! We kept taking time out as we may have been trying too hard or in a rote. Today we tackled the second with better results, more quickly like it was waiting for us and wanted to be kind!!!!!!!!!

Thank you.
