Common problems for Connectivity Issues
We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about Printer Wi-Fi, Connectivity Issues and Offline Status. Check out this link: HP printer is offline or unavailable.

My printer does not stay connected to the network. I've spent a few hours with Support. Their solutions last a few minutes or pages.

I have to attempt to print over and over hoping something will print. Meanwhile, I get a notice I'm over 100 pages in 2 days! Nothing is printing!!

There is no customer support on weekends.  It's maddening.

Hi @dnageek,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I'm sorry to hear about the issues you're experiencing with your printer not staying connected to the network. Here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try:

Steps to Improve Network Connectivity for Your HP Printer

Restart Your Printer and Router:

  • Turn off your printer and unplug your router.
  • Wait for 30 seconds before turning them back on.

Ensure Stable Network Connection:

  • Make sure your printer is within range of your router.
  • Avoid placing the printer near objects that can cause interference, such as microwaves or cordless phones.

Update Printer Firmware:

  • Check if there is any firmware update available for your printer and apply it if needed.

Reconfigure Wi-Fi Settings:

  • Reconnect your printer to the network by accessing the settings menu on the printer.
  • Choose your Wi-Fi network and enter the correct password.

Set a Static IP:

  • Set a static IP address for your printer to prevent it from losing its connection with your router.

Check for Print Queue Issues:

  • Clear any stuck print jobs in the print queue that might be causing errors.

    I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!

Thank you.

I've done all these and more. Factory re-sets, etc. I even got a new Gateway. None of the many other devices in my home have any trouble at all.

Not only that, jobs I tried to print weeks ago suddenly printed out if the blue causing more surcharges on my Instant Ink subscription  which I have now canceled.

Now, the printer keeps sending new security certificates? This is new.

The only solution is a refund on this printer and a recommendation for a printer that has no communication problems. And, instructions on allowing printer to print with a cable connected to my laptop. That also is not working.

I've restarted, factory re-set, updated software,  changed gateway, done everything support has suggested wasting hours and the printer works here and there.

I tried connecting printer to my computer with a cable and it could not print even occasionally.
