Hi @Denny63,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
I'd be happy to help you!
What is the version of OS?
If your phone is not recognizing the printer address for your HP DeskJet 2755e, there are several steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue. Here’s a guide to help you get your phone connected to the printer:
Step 1: Check Printer Connectivity
- Ensure Printer is On: Make sure the printer is powered on and ready.
- Check Network Connection:
- Verify that the printer is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your phone. You can check this on the printer’s control panel under Network settings.
Step 2: Restart Devices
- Restart the Printer:
- Turn off the printer, wait for about 10 seconds, and then turn it back on.
- Restart Your Phone:
- Restart your phone to refresh the network connections.
Step 3: Use HP Smart App
Install HP Smart:
- If you haven’t already, download the HP Smart app from the App Store (iOS) or Google Play Store (Android).
Add Printer in HP Smart:
- Open the HP Smart app and select Add Printer. The app should automatically detect the printer if both devices are on the same network.
Step 4: Check Printer Settings
Check for Wi-Fi Direct:
- If you are trying to connect via Wi-Fi Direct, ensure that Wi-Fi Direct is enabled on the printer. You can find this in the printer settings on the control panel.
Reset Network Settings:
- If there are still issues, you can reset the network settings on the printer. This option is typically found in the Network or Wireless settings section.
Kindly find the next steps in the next post.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance

Hi @Denny63,
Please find the next steps below.
Step 5: Forget and Reconnect to Wi-Fi
- Forget Network on Phone:
- On your phone, go to Settings > Wi-Fi and forget the network the printer is connected to.
- Reconnect:
- Reconnect to the network and see if the printer address reappears.
Step 6: Check for Updates
- Update Printer Firmware:
- Ensure your printer firmware is up to date. You can do this through the HP Smart app or the HP support website.
- Update Phone OS:
- Make sure your phone's operating system is updated to the latest version.
Step 7: Use Alternative Printing Methods
AirPrint (for iOS):
- If you are using an iPhone or iPad, check if your printer supports AirPrint. If so, you can print directly from any app that supports printing.
Google Cloud Print (for Android):
- If using Android, ensure Google Cloud Print is set up, if applicable, though Google Cloud Print has been deprecated.
Step 8: Verify Network Compatibility
- Check Router Settings:
- Ensure that your router settings allow devices to communicate with each other. Sometimes, guest network settings or isolation can prevent devices from seeing each other.
If these steps don’t resolve the issue and the printer address continues to disappear when attempting to connect, consider reaching out to HP Phone Support for further assistance.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance
