Is there any reason I need to reconnect to the Wi-Fi network after restoring network settings to the default when I'm going to be taking the printer to recycling same day? It seems that most information I'm reading says one needs to reconnect to Wi-Fi. I don't understand why I would need to do that. Thank you.

I appreciate your response, but I had already seen the information on the link you sent. Step 5 indicates to "reconnect to the Wi-Fi network, if necessary." I'm looking for more definitive information whether or not it is necessary to reconnect to the network prior to recycling, since I've read in a few places that one has to reconnect to the network, which didn't make any sense to me. Thank you.

Sure - you are welcome.
Now we know what you are reading.
"If necessary" means you decide.
I interpret that statement to mean "do what you want".
Perhaps the reconnect is to make sure the restore to defaults actually worked.
?
Were it mine to do, and I felt everything was done,
I would not bother to reconnect the printer after the restore to network defaults.
