Hi @JBaker5,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query.

I am sorry to hear that your HP printer is consistently showing as offline, I would request you to please follow the steps:

Check Printer Connection

  • Wi‑Fi printers: Make sure the blue wireless light is solid (not blinking). If blinking, reconnect to Wi‑Fi.
  • USB printers: Ensure the cable is firmly connected and try another port.

Restart Devices

  • Power cycle the printer: turn it off, unplug for 60 seconds, then restart.
  • Restart your router and computer as well.

Set Printer as Default

  • On your computer, go to Printers & Scanners.
  • Make sure your HP printer is set as the default printer.
  • Remove duplicate entries (like “Copy 1” or “Offline”).

Re-add the Printer

  • Delete the printer from your computer’s printer list.
  • Add it again:
  • Windows: Printers & Scanners → Add a printer.
  • Mac: System Preferences → Printers & Scanners → + (Add).
  • Choose the correct networked printer

Update Drivers & Firmware

  • Go to HP Support.
  • Download and install the latest driver package and firmware update for your printer model.

Restart Printer Spooler Service:

  • Type services.msc in the search box and press Enter.
  • In the Services window, scroll down to “Print Spooler” and right-click to restart it.

Check for Windows Updates:

  • Go to "Settings" > "Update & Security" > "Windows Update" and check for updates.
  • Installing available updates can resolve compatibility issues.

Take care and have an amazing day!

Hi @Jasun

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

Got it — thanks for letting me know. Since the printer is showing as offline and not connecting to your Internet, I’d like to first understand the setup before diving into steps. That way, we can pinpoint whether it’s a network issue, a printer setting, or something else.

Could you tell me:

  • The exact printer model you’re using.
  • How it’s currently connected — Wi‑Fi, Ethernet, or USB?
  • Whether other devices on the same network are working fine.
  • If the printer ever connected successfully before, or if this is the first time you’re setting it up.

With those details, I’ll be able to guide you more precisely.

We're looking forward to helping you get back up and running!

Regards,

Hawks_Eye
