HP Smart Tank 5105 All-in-One Printer

HP Smart Tank 5105 printer. Unable to get this new printer working remotely, as all print jobs get stuck in print queue. The printer was successfully setup with Wi-Fi and when setup was completed a “test” page was successfully printed as was a page from the HP Smart App showing the successful results of the Wi-Fi connection. However print jobs sent wirelessly from my iPad and HP laptop will not print, and when I check on the Smart App there is a list of the jobs stuck in a print queue. Deleteing these jobs from the print queue does not resolve the problem, it simply repeats again when new print jobs are sent.

@Buzz06, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding HP Smart Tank 5105 Print Queue Issues!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

If your print jobs are getting stuck in the print queue on your HP Smart Tank 5105 printer, there are several steps you can take to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:

1. Check the Printer Connection

  • Ensure that your printer is connected to the same network as your devices (iPad and HP laptop).
  • Verify that the Wi-Fi is stable and the printer is turned on. The Wireless light should be solid to indicate a stable connection.

2. Restart Devices

  • Restart your printer, computer, and iPad. Turning the devices off and then back on can often resolve connectivity or communication issues.

3. Clear Print Queue

  • Windows:
    1. Go to "Printers & Scanners" in the Windows settings.
    2. Select your HP printer and click "Open queue."
    3. Cancel all pending print jobs.
  • iPad: You may need to cancel the print job from your iPad's print queue. Go to the app you are printing from, open the print queue, and cancel any stuck jobs.

4. Update Printer Drivers and Firmware

  • Ensure that your printer's firmware is up to date. You can typically check for updates using the HP Smart app.
  • On your HP laptop, check if there are any driver updates available through HP Support or Windows Update.

5. Reinstall the HP Smart App

  • Uninstall and reinstall the HP Smart app on both your iPad and laptop. This can help resolve any app-specific issues that might be causing the problem.

6. Network and Firewall Settings

  • Ensure that firewall settings are not blocking communication between your devices and the printer.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
