Hi -

Not sure I'm understanding the instruction correctly -  my apologies.  The wireless is set to "ON" - it's actually always been on.  If I run the Wireless Network Wizard, it does not find the selected network.   I ran a Wireless Network Test and it's telling me that the HP printer network name (SSID) matches the wireless router network name (SSID) exactly.   I selected the Wireless Summary option and the IP simply says "No Link".   Under "Current Configuration" on the Network Test result, the IP Address is showing the following:  Not applicable.  There is also a hardware address which I'm assuming is the computer - not the printer?  Not sure it this is the information you are seeking.

Thank You HevnLgh.

waburk,

Truthfully, I can't help but feel this is an issue with the network you are wishing to connect to. You mentioned previously that you have another network? Is this an extender, or does it have a different network name? Do you have 2 entirely separate networks?

I am simply trying to better understand your atmosphere. How close is the router you are trying to configure the printer to? How close is the 2nd router that the printer sees but you are not attempting to connect to? What network is your computer on? The one you want the printer on or the 2nd network?

Here are my thoughts, first and foremost, if you have the router you want the printer connected to close enough to the router, you could connect an ethernet cable and be done with it! 🙂

Using an Ethernet cable creates a more stable connection between the router and the printer, and the printer can still communicate wirelessly to all of the devices that are configured to that network (router).

My second thought is, if your second router is an extender and not a separate network, maybe this is the issue, what happens when you try to configure the printer wirelessly to it? You said the printer sees it, have you tried to connect to it?

If you connect to that network, and put your computer on the same network, it would prove the issue is not the printer.

I feel like we are fighting a battle that is not HP related. I am certain the issue is related to the network.

Look forward to hearing from you.

Good Morning HevnLgh -

As I shared previously, this printer ran perfectly on the existing network for almost 2 full years.  Suddenly the printer - and only this printer - is no longer able to see the network.  However all of the other devices that have also operated on the network continue to operate without issue.  We have not changed or moved any equipment - nothing in the configuration including the devices on the network have changed during this time.  The printer suddenly failed to recognize the network - but bizarrely still sees 6 other networks in the neighboring area.  Which leads me to believe it's a glitch in the printer.  From the various forums that I have read online, it appears this issue has not been uncommon with this particular printer.  However, I have yet to find anyone that has had a successful solution to the issue.

We are going to purchase a new router as a final test as it's less expensive than purchasing a new printer.  And unfortunately I'm not in the position to move the routers into the area with the printer and reconfigure out entire layout and design at this point.

I will try a new router as a last resort and see what happens.  I will update you with the results.

Thank you for your help!

I am having nearly the exact same issue.  I have been using this same model printer via wifi for about four years.  I upgraded my router about six months ago.  In all that time, I have never had an  issue until two days ago.  I can see other wireless networks in the neighborhood, but not the one that sits 12 inches below it under the desk.

Hello @KippKyEva,

Thank you for visiting the HP Support Forums! Smiley Happy I see your HP Printer is unable to see your Wireless network,  however it is able to see to see other networks in the area.

Were you able to try any of the recommendations I previously suggested in this thread? Have you tried refreshing your Network? Turn off the Router, Printer & Computer in that order for 60 seconds, now turn on in the same way you powered down?

Once the network is refreshed, re run the Wireless Setup Wizard in the front panel of your HP Printer, what happens?

To better assist you, leave me with the following information:

1. Are you getting any error messages?

2. When you upgraded the router, did you change the password?

3. What is the Exact model of HP Printer you are using?

I will watch for you reply.

Thanks,

HevnLgh

Thank you for the response.  Yes, I tried all of the steps listed in your support of the OP, including what you listed in your last response.  There are no error messages; simply no indication that it is seeing the router beside it.  It can see the neighbor's network, but not this one.  I have reset, changed the name, changed the password, etc. to no avail.  The unit in question is an Officejet Pro 8600 Plus.  I currently have it connected to the router via an ethernet cable for network printing from my desktop and laptop, however I cannot utilize AirPrint from our iOS devices, which is key.

@KippKyEva,

Thank you for getting back to me. I would like you to start here: Wireless Troubleshooting Center

As for the AirPrint, take a look below:

I would suggest starting here:  Wireless Printing with Apple's AirPrint

Get back to me and let me know the outcome. I will watch for your reply.

Hi,

I have similar problem with my printer HP Desingjet T520. It can't find my wireless netework. I think I tried all you recommanded here but with no sucess.

I have router DI-524. Wired connection works OK but when I try wireless setup printer won't list my network. Then I'll put the SSID there by myself and as well as password (WPA2-PSK(AES)) and the attemt to connect will fail. Then if I try print the Wireless network test result it says that the No Filtering Failed. That doesn't make any sense since the MAC filtering on router is disabled. Also I tried to turn on the MAC filtering and put there the MAC address of the printer but with the same result.

Also the wireless network should be visible since on any other device I can see it, even if the device wasn't in the network before - the network is not hidden.

Could you advise me?

I have a new HP laserjet P1102W that worked for two whole weeks. Then it fails to see any network at all. It also stopped broadcasting the HP-Printer wifi. Airprint fails to see it. Android AIO app fails to see it. It all happens suddenly one day and it has not worked on wifi since. Note that ePrint NEVER worked.

I am honestly impressed by OP and the other posters having so much patience with their malfunctioning HP printer + the HP support who repeatedly denies the possibility that the printer itself is glitched.  I understand that as an HP representative & and a tech support he would propose all other possibilities first before addressing the printer itself, but really it is time for everyone to get a solution.

I am lucky enough for the printer to still be under warranty (only 3 weeks old), I hope we all are facing the same problem and gets a simple solution soon! If I can't make my wifi HP printer work on wifi by the end of this week, I will go through the process of refunding it.

Take the HO printer back to the store and buy anything but HP. I have tried every possible solution to get my HP Officejet Pro 8600 to work wirelessly on a consistent basis for overf a year. It worked fine and then it stopped. I have got it going again only for the whole cycle to start over. Now it cant find any wireless networks but my neigbours. I have reseet and reinstalled countless times. This is a defecetive product. We can only print with the LAN cable and its a pain switiching it between computers since my husband and I share it. I am going to buy a new Epson printer.
