HP LaserJet Pro MFP M130fn

So, a company printer I have been working on has no issue connecting to our network, but when I go to print anything, it'll make noise like it is going to print but will not. I am able to ping its IP address, and by all means it should connect. It is a LaserJet Pro MFP M130fn.

Hi @Horizon_Frank,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

For your HP LaserJet Pro MFP M130fn printer that connects to the network but does not print, here are several troubleshooting steps you can try.

Check the Print Queue:

  • Open the Devices and Printers window on the computer you're printing from.
  • Right-click on the LaserJet Pro MFP M130fn printer and select See what's printing.
  • If there are any documents stuck in the queue, cancel them. Restart the print job and see if it goes through.

Restart the Printer and Computer:

  • Turn off the printer, unplug it for about 30 seconds, and then turn it back on.
  • Restart the computer you're trying to print from.

Reinstall the Printer Drivers:

  • Go to Devices and Printers on your computer, right-click the LaserJet Pro MFP M130fn, and select Remove Device.
  • Download and install the latest drivers for your printer from the official HP website: HP LaserJet Pro MFP M130fn Drivers.
  • Reinstall the printer once the drivers are installed.

Check the Printer's Status:

  • On the printer control panel, check if there are any error messages or warnings (like paper jams, low toner, or connectivity issues).

Check the Printer’s IP Configuration:

  • Make sure the printer's IP address hasn't changed or is not conflicting with another device on the network. If needed, print a configuration page from the printer's control panel to verify its IP address.

Verify Printer is Set as Default:

  • In Devices and Printers, right-click the printer and select Set as default printer to ensure it's the default choice.

Test with a Different Computer or Device:

  • Try printing from another computer or device on the same network. This can help determine if the issue is specific to the computer or the printer itself.

Check Network Configuration:

  • Ensure the printer is connected to the correct Wi-Fi network (if using wireless) and that there are no IP address conflicts.

Check Firmware Updates:

  • Visit the HP website to check if there are any firmware updates for your printer that might resolve bugs affecting printing functionality.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
