Hello. I am needing help with connection issues. I try to connect my printer to my new phone, but it continues to tell me the PIN is not correct. I try the same on my Windows Laptop and it tells me the same error message. Could anyone help me with this issue moving forward? Thanks in advance!

@JennyMC2019, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding Printer Connection Issues!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
When you encounter connection issues with your printer, such as incorrect PIN errors, here are the steps to resolve them:
Verifying the Correct PIN
- Ensure that you are entering the correct PIN. The PIN is usually generated by the printer for network connections and can often be found printed on a label on the printer, in the network settings menu on the printer’s display, or in the printer manual.
- Double-check for any typing errors when entering the PIN.
Restarting Devices
- Turn off your printer and your phone or Windows Laptop.
- Wait for a few minutes and then turn them back on. Sometimes, a simple restart can resolve connection issues.
Checking Network Settings
- Make sure that the printer is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your phone or laptop.
- Verify that there are no network issues. You may try reconnecting other devices to ensure the network is functioning correctly.
Updating Firmware and Software
- Check if there are any firmware updates available for your printer. Updating the firmware can resolve many connectivity issues.
- Make sure that your phone’s operating system and Windows laptop drivers are up to date.
Resetting Network Settings
- On the printer, go to the Network Settings menu and reset the network settings.
- Reconnect the printer to the Wi-Fi network, re-entering the correct SSID and password.
Reinstalling Printer
- On your phone or Windows laptop, remove the printer from the list of connected devices.
- Reinstall or re-add the printer following the standard procedure, and re-enter the PIN if required.
Hope this helps!
Take care, and have an amazing day!
