Office Jet 6978 running macOS 15.1  Scanning issue  HPSmart App

Using the HPDmart App trying to scan I keep getting the "Printer not available " error. I have run  HP Diagnose & Fix option and it found no errors. I have reset the printer and rebooted my Macbook Pro. I had the same issue periodically  on macOS14 and it would just 'go away' over time 

Has anyone else had this issue?

This could be a compatibility issue with your OS. 

 

As per the specifications, this printer supports: 

Minimum System Requirements for Macintosh

OS X v10.9 Mavericks, OS X v10.10 Yosemite, OS X v10.11 El Capitan, 1GB  Available Space, Internet Access

 

Compatible operating systems

Windows 11; Windows 10; Windows 8; Windows 7; Windows Vista; macOS X 10.10 Yosemite; macOS 10.11 El Capitan
