I have an issue with one of my four Laserjet Tank 2504dw printers going offline dropping the ethernet connection. After restarting the printer it will print a stored page (if one available) then will drop the connection, connection lasts no more than 30 seconds. Sometimes all it will have all the lights and symbols flashing. The printer is only two weeks old, USB connection works, don't have wifi in the office to try. Please help!

Hi @NeilStalker,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I'm sorry to hear about the connectivity issues you're experiencing with your HP LaserJet Tank 2504dw printer. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the problem.
Check Ethernet Cable and Connection:
- Ensure that the Ethernet cable is securely connected to both the printer and the network port or router.
- Try using a different Ethernet cable to eliminate the possibility of a faulty cable.
Printer Placement:
- Ensure that the printer is placed in an area with good ventilation and away from potential sources of interference.
- Avoid placing the printer near electronic devices that may cause interference with the Ethernet connection.
Static IP Address:
- Assign a static IP address to the printer to avoid any conflicts with dynamic IP assignment.
- Consult the printer manual or the printer's control panel for instructions on setting a static IP address.
Update Firmware:
- Check if there are any firmware updates available for your printer on the HP support website.
- If updates are available, download and install them following the provided instructions.
Network Configuration:
- Check the network settings on the printer to ensure they match the network configuration of your office.
- If your network uses DHCP, ensure that the printer is set to obtain an IP address automatically.
Factory Reset:
- As a last resort, you can perform a factory reset on the printer. This will restore the printer to its default settings.
- Be aware that a factory reset will erase any custom settings, so use this option with caution.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
