Hi @Skii27a,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like your HP printer has stopped printing because it's encountering an issue with your HP account, especially common with HP+ or Instant Ink printers. Here's how to fix it:

1. Check HP Smart Account & Printer Status

  1. Open the HP Smart app on your Windows 11 PC.
  2. Sign out, then sign back in to refresh the connection.
  3. Navigate to Printers or Instant Ink section:
    • Green indicator = Ready
    • Gray or red = Account or connection issue
  4. If the printer shows inactive, click Refresh a few times.

2. Verify Subscription & Account Health

  • Even if you don’t use Instant Ink, an HP+ printer still requires a linked HP account and an active Internet connection.
  • Sign in to your account on hp.com and go to My Devices → Printers
    • If there's a warning or subscription issue, even if Instant Ink isn’t used, this can block printing.

3. Re-enable Web Services

HP printers rely on Web Services for account communication:

  1. Log in to the printer’s Embedded Web Server (EWS) via its IP address.
  2. Go to the Web Services tab.
  3. Click Remove Web Services (or Reset) and confirm.
  4. Then enable Web Services again to re-establish the connection.

4. Remove & Re-add Printer

  1. In HP Smart, remove the existing printer.
  2. Power-cycle the printer (unplug for 30 seconds, plug back in).
  3. Open HP Smart again, add the printer anew, and ensure you're signed into the same account.

5. Update Firmware & App

  • Ensure your printer’s firmware is current. Use HP Smart or EWS to check for updates.
  • In Windows 11, go to Settings → Apps → HP Smart → Advanced options → Reset to clear possible app issues.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
