Hi @Sue-4_,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I understand your HP Envy 6455e printer is not connecting with your Samsung S25 Ultra, even though both devices show Wi-Fi is working. Let’s go through a few steps to check what could be causing this.

Check Wi-Fi connection type

Ensure both the printer and the phone are connected to the same 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network (not 5 GHz or mobile hotspot).

Avoid using guest networks or VPNs that can block device communication.

Restart devices and network

Power off your printer, router, and phone.

Wait 30 seconds, then power them back on in this order: router → printer → phone.

Verify printer connection status

On the printer’s control panel, press and hold the Wi-Fi and Information (i) buttons together to print a Network Configuration Page.

Confirm the printer’s IP address and ensure it’s listed as “Connected” to your network.

Re-add the printer in the HP Smart app

Open HP Smart on your Samsung phone.

Tap the ‘+’ icon → Set Up a New Printer → follow the on-screen steps to reconnect it to Wi-Fi.

If the app shows your printer offline, remove it and add it again using the IP address.

Disable automatic network switching on your phone

Go to Settings → Connections → Wi-Fi → Advanced.

Turn off Switch to mobile data or Adaptive connectivity, so your phone stays on Wi-Fi during setup.

Update printer firmware and HP Smart app

Make sure the HP Smart app is up to date from the Play Store.

In HP Smart, go to Printer Settings → Advanced Settings → Tools → Printer Updates to ensure the firmware is current.

Assign a static IP address

If your printer keeps disconnecting after setup, assign it a static IP in your router settings.

This helps prevent the printer from “forgetting” the network after each use.

I hope this helps.
